Event Details

Marketing is increasingly about creating meaningful relationships with consumers.  People buy and research products and services very differently to how they did just five or six years ago.  There is a greater reliance on word of mouth and much of this is spread online using social media.

About the Social Media Starter Course

The Social Media Starter Course is designed specifically for people who are new to social media but find they increasingly have to use it in their day to day jobs.

Whether you are responsible for creating marketing campaigns or getting the word out about a new product or service, this interactive two hour workshop gives you the knowledge you need to start making measurable connections with consumers using social media.

Learn how to increase your marketing return on investment by building trust and extending your circle of influence online.  The end result?  More customers buying your products or services.

Topics covered

What is social media?  Why is it important?  How can it help my marketing budget go further in these times of economic uncertainty?  What are the technologies involved?

Alongside an interactive presentation and Q&A session, we devote a substantial section of the course to putting together a social media strategy for a real marketing problem.

Please bring along a marketing problem or issue you would like addressed.

The Venue

The Social Media Starter Course takes place at Manchester's multi-million pound technology and enterprise centre, One Central Park, located just two miles from Manchester city centre.  The course is delivered in a small, intimate classroom environment with no more than twenty attending ensuring you have one-to-one contact with the course leader.  Lunch and refreshments are provided.

How Do I Benefit?

You may need to make a case for using social media in your work place.  What better way than by pointing to case studies of successful social media campaigns run by well-known brands?

We demonstrate the benefits of using social media complete with UK-specific brand case studies and examples.

We also show you how to develop a social media strategy that can be integrated into a traditional marketing campaign.
